Hey fellow Lionel Lovers, I'm Stu
I grew up with a love of Lionel Trains. It all started when my dad and my uncle passed down their boyhood trains to me when I was around seven years old. Ever since then, I have continuously been involved with building layouts, operating, collecting, buying, and now selling Lionel trains. I've always found them fascinating - it's the combination of understanding the mechanical nature of the trains, dealing with electricity/electrical wiring, as well as the creativity behind doing scenery on a layout. It's multifaceted and engages all the senses.
I'm married with 3 daughters and I'm a structural engineer by profession. I still find ways to keep the hobby a part of my life. I became a member of all the major O Gauge collecting organizations - I seemed to find a home in the TCA and more specifically, my local division, METCA. After rising through the ranks of my METCA division, I continued on to be a part of the national office. And of course, I started Lionel Nation, which is meant as a space to both reach out and bring together fans of Lionel trains.
